This is just one of the security considerations that is often overlooked when taking a PC for repair.

Intellifix has brought together competent skilled people who have signed up to help resolve other peoples computer related problems. The Intellifix site works by introducing you to the correct engineer for your particular query or problem, and then providing a simple, secure, technical framework which allows the engineer to fix your problem instantly, via a remote connection to your PC. Within minutes your problem is resolved without even leaving your seat!

In order for you to to use the Intellifix services you will need an account on the system. This is free and you are under no obligations whatsoever to use our support. Once setup with your personal account you will be able to log into the system and search on your specific problem you are experiencing. The search data will reveal numerous competent software engineers able to handle your problem. This is done by displaying what engineers have chosen to support the particular application of problem you have performed your search on.

From the available list on engineers; you will be able to assess their previous work, feedback reputation rating and their fees (if they have chosen to display any). You may then choose to read about one or more of the profiles displayed to you by clicking on the engineers name. This will give you a broader insight into a specific engineer. You can always search again and chose another engineer if you wish to do so. When you are happy that you have perhaps found the right engineer for your task you may contact him or her using our live chat function (see initial contact below). This will allow you to communicate to the engineer via txt based chat and describe in detail the problem you are experiencing.



We understand that you need assurance that each of our engineers has the skills to carry out your work, and has a track record of helping other Intellifix users. That is why the Intellifix site incorporates a feedback powered rating system for every engineer. This enables you to choose the correct engineer for the problem. Their feedback rating is displayed in highest ranking order, so you can be assured you are getting the most reputable engineer for the job. The feedback for every engineer is based on all previous Intellifix customers comments that an engineer has worked with.

If you choose to have a job carried out, at the completion of that job you will be able to leave feedback for the engineer who assisted you. This ensures that you will be happy with any work carried out, as the engineers full reputation is based entirely upon feedback.

Engineers profiles and previous job records are also available for you to view before selecting an engineer.

Once you are satisfied you have found the correct engineer to help you, you can proceed to communicate with your chosen engineer by simply selecting him or her. This opens up a chat-room style dialogue at no expense to you, and with no obligation to proceed further.



Once you have contacted an engineer you will be able to discuss your problem via a text based chat window and explain the symptoms you are experiencing. This will help the engineer to assess the extent of the problem and allow him or her to progress your case if they feel they can be of assistance with your unique issue, problem or query.



All of the engineers have an option to either display their rates or not, since some will prefer to assess each job on its own merits before making a quotation.

All costs between an individual requiring support and an engineer providing support are not determined by Intellifix in any way. Fees paid to engineers for providing assistance and support are negotiated by you.

Further more we do not take commission from any costs agreed or accepted between you and a support engineer. These costs are solely between you and the support engineer.

To assist you in assessing the likely cost of resolving your issue, it is advisable to chat with the engineer who will then either give you a flat rate fee or a fee based on time taken online. This will depend on the engineers preference. Remember that any costs for support work discussed and decided between YOU and the ENGINEER for your particular job. This enables you to negotiate for the best price and assures you that you will get good value for money. If you dont like the price, pick another online engineer. Once you are happy with the suggested cost of hourly rate,  or even per minute rate you can then discuss and agree payment terms.

The engineer will then formally send you a quotation through the chat window for you to either accept or decline. If you accept the proposed quotation you will be passed to the payment gateway before or after the work is completed depending on which payment method you and the engineer have agreed.



We understand that every engineer and every customer is unique. Because of this, Intellifix offers numerous payment ways in which you can make payment between you and your engineer as follows :-


Engineers with a high feedback rating may request users with a low feedback rating to pay in full before any work commences.


Low rated engineers, for example engineers who have only recently signed up to Intellifix , may choose to request payment after completion of any work to reassure you of their commitment in helping you.


This option allows both parties to agree payment terms that are equally fair if their feedback ratings are of similar value. This option is also best for new comers to the site. Note that this option incurs more charges via the payment gateway.

Note: Intellifix customers requiring support or assistance do not need a PayPal account in order to make payment to engineers, although you can still make payments to an engineer via the PayPal payment system.

Engineers must have a PayPal account to be able to receive payments from people wanting their assistance. Paypal is the fast, safe and convenient way to make payments online to engineers.  For details of how to create a new PayPal account click here

After payment has been agreed and processed (where necessary) the engineer will be able to request a remote connection to your computer. This is accomplished with the use of our unique software that will be seamlessly and quickly installed prior to entering a chat session with the engineer as described above. Installing the software prior to contacting an engineer is your assurance the the Intellifix system is compatible with your computer. This ensures payment is only processed if your computer is compatible and meets the necessary requirements to function with our service.

Our remote control software enables the engineer to take control of your computer at the keyboard, mouse and monitor level so he or she can move your mouse, type on your keyboard and watch your screen helping you all the way.

For security reasons the remote control session is initiated by the engineer, yet fully controlled by you. If you do not accept the remote control request the support session will not take place. Your acceptance of a request to initiate a support session is YOU giving a ENGINEER access to your pc via the remote control software at that time.

There are only two instances when using the Intellifix service that a connection can be made to your PC.

  • A connection to your PC is made by the engineer at your request.
  • Remote reboot - which is when the engineer requested a remote reboot of your PC and a subsequent reconnection is made.

For added security:-

  • A technician cannot gain access to your  machine using Intellifix without your acceptance of a support request. This adds security and peace of mind that a technician cannot gain access to your machine whilst you are away from your machine.
     
  • If at any time you want to pause the session in progress all you need to do is click your right mouse button at anytime. This will stop the engineer being able to control your machine while you are out of the room answering the phone for example. You can later resume the session at any time.

You can see exactly what the engineer is doing at all times and you have the ability to pause any support session at any point (simply by pressing your right mouse button) if you feel there is a need to. You will also be in constant communication with the engineer via the text based chat window through which you initially discussed the problem and payment details. These Intellifix features give you ultimate control and safety during a support session.
